Why Do Business With A Minority Owned Business

It’s important who you do business with in today’s industry.  Fact is, there are quotas to be achieved within some companies which are penalized if not attained and rewarded when accomplished.  This is one of the biggest reasons to consider doing business with a minority owned business which has taken the time to become a Certified Minority Business Enterprise.

There are other reasons, but before we review these lets define exactly what minority owned businesses are. 

Here is one definition for Minority Owned Businesses:

Businesses in the US that are owned at least 51% by a recognized Minority class. 

According to Wikipedia there are 4 such classes.

1. African American
2. Asian American (includes West Asian Americans (India etc.) and East Asian Americans (Japan Korea etc.)
3. Hispanic American - not of the Iberian Peninsula.
4. Native American including Aleuts
